Portfolio FAQ
Are the tattoo photos in the portfolio healed or freshly done?
It's a mix of both. Some photos are taken right after the session when the lines are at their sharpest. Others show healed tattoos, weeks or months later. I include both because a fresh fine line tattoo and a healed one look different, and I want you to know what to expect.
Will my fine line tattoo look exactly like the portfolio?
Probably not exactly, no. Skin texture, tone, and how your body holds ink all play a role. Two people can get a similar fine line tattoo on different body parts and end up with noticeably different results. That's why I design for your specific placement and skin, not just copy what worked on someone else.
Do fine line tattoos need corrections after healing?
Some do, some don't. It depends on your skin, where the tattoo is, and how well you follow the aftercare routine. Ribs, fingers, and inner arms can heal unpredictably. I offer touch-ups within the first 3 months if any lines need refining.
How do fine line tattoos age over the years?
Better than most people think. I have clients whose fine line tattoos are over 10 years old and still look clean and sharp. The lines soften a bit over time, but they hold up well if you take care of them. The two biggest things: follow the aftercare properly in the first month, and avoid sun on the tattoo as much as you can after that.
What tattoo styles are shown in the portfolio?
You'll find fine line, minimalist, geometric, floral, and micro-realistic tattoos here. Everything in the portfolio was done in Helsinki and hand-sketched from scratch. If you're not sure what style you want, browsing through can help narrow it down.
Where were the tattoos in the portfolio done?
Most were done right here in Helsinki, Finland. My studio is in Punavuori, the Design District. All new work gets photographed at the studio on Punavuorenkatu 4. A few older pieces are from guest spots in other cities, but Helsinki has been home base for years.
Can I use a portfolio photo as a reference for my tattoo?
Absolutely, send me anything that catches your eye. I use references to understand what you're drawn to, not to copy. I don't repeat designs, so your tattoo will be its own thing, but knowing your taste helps me get the direction right.
